Projects › India Wind Power Project

Price on Application

The project is located in the Tamilnadu region of India and is a small-scale wind farm. The 7.25MW wind farm displaces the fossil fuel generated energy from India's National Grid.  The project consists of 17 wind turbine generators.

The project has created job opportunities to the local population during erection and operation of the wind farms, contributing in poverty alleviation of the local community and development of basic amenities to community.

All the windmills have been commissioned and the generated electricity that they produce is connected to state electric utility namely Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) and transmitted through the state grid for consumption.

The wind farms need large area. The locations of the wind turbines were generally were unproductive and in remote and largely unfertile areas. These lands generally command low prices. But due to land demand for wind farms, the land price increased leading to economic well being of the local community.

The project activity also contributes in economic well being of the nation’s economy by reducing import of coal and other fossil fuel for electricity generation in hard currency.
