co2balance has joined seven other leading carbon offsetting providers to welcome the change to the Government’s offsetting Code of Practice.  The Code, which is still in its draft stage, now recognises the important role played by Verified Emissions Reductions (VERs).

VERs are the main offsetting option that co2balance offers as these projects can be controlled directly by co2balance, and they have a series of community spin offs as well as the actual carbon offset.

The Government has challenged the industry to reach widely agreed standards and co2balance will work with other offsetting providers to ensure that they meet their own ethical offsetting practices.
